Why I Began Combining My Energy Work & Ceramics.

Ever since I was young, I’ve used my hands as a way of expressing, transmuting and pushing energy out of my body. Even if I was unaware of what I was doing on a conscious level, my soul was gently trying to guide me towards something bigger than myself. When I touch clay, time stops and I’m transported into a feeling I really don’t know how to put on paper. It’s similar to the feeling of listening to your favorite song that happened to play back to back on different radio stations. That glimpse of pure elation that seems so simple, but so magical at the same time. The feeling of being fully present and engulfed by a moment in time. Ceramics for me has been a route that can take me to that space within minutes and eventually it became my main form of active mediation. The more I thought about it, the more aware I became that I was charging my work with that same energy and turning the feeling into a tangible object. An objet that would forever hold the frequency and vibration of that moment in time. When I am in my studio, everything is intentional. The entire process for me is sacred and after months of using these tools in my own practice, I felt like it was time to share them with the world. When you hold one of my pieces, not only are you holding a super charged piece clay that’s given a sound bath and reiki, but also a moment in time. You’re holding a bunch of laughs in my studio, a late night dancing session while I paint 45 vessels listening to Azans, an excited inhale as I peek my head into the kiln to see them fired for the first time. You’re holding me.
